The artistic works from Herend soon got critical acclaim from all parts of Europe. Several Royalty courts of Europe entrusted Herend with their exclusive orders. Herend products were introduced to the United States in 1853 at the New York Exhibition of Industrial Art.

Herend Porcelain became the purveyor of Habsburg Dynasty. It was also entitled to use the shapes and patterns of manufactory of Vienna. This facility, however, had been closed. This period is often regarded as the first golden period of Herend Porcelain.

In the year 1948 the Communist state owned and nationalized Herend. Later in the year 1993, the company was privatized and 75% of the company is now owned by its management and workers.

Products of Herend
Herend Porcelain used hard paste porcelain made of Kaolin, feldspar and quartz in their products. These porcelain pieces are painted by had with color or gold. The most well known Herend produce was perhaps presented in London World Exhibition in the year 1851. The product had colorful Chinese style butterflies and flowery branches on then. Queen Victoria ordered an award winning design for Windsor castle. Today, this design is named after her and is called Viktoria.
