The amount of income that can be earned by posting articles and placing affiliate links on a website varies from one website marketer to the next. The main factor influencing how much revenue can be generated is the degree of success of the website. Several things can affect your success: building an appealing site around a great niche subject; ensuring that your site contains interesting, informative content; effective search engine optimization and its positive effects on your site’s search engine rankings; the number of websites you have; and the size of your site(s).
Some website entrepreneurs claim they earn up to $10,000 per month by building and promoting niche websites. That’s $120,000 per year, but earning that much is probably unrealistic for most people (and especially beginners). That type of success generally takes a good deal of skill and experience. It’s more reasonable to expect a niche website to earn $500-$1,000 per month, and that’s after you’ve found some good affiliates and worked several months to build your site’s traffic. Fortunately, it’s recurring income that you’ll receive every month, not just once or twice.
Most website marketers eventually build more than one niche website – as a general rule, the more sites you have, the more you’ll earn. Some people prefer quickly building small sites rather than spending more time to create larger ones. Keep in mind, though, that a larger site will probably generate more money than a shorter site.
When you first start out, don’t get discouraged. The first site you build will be the hardest because you’re just learning the ins and outs of the website marketing business. That being said, it’s important to realize that some people just aren’t suited to build and promote niche websites. You might lose a little cash if things don’t work out, but that’s a risk you’ll need to take if you decide to go forward and give it a shot.
Make sure you give it your best if you do decide you’d really like to get involved in website marketing. Building your first site could be tedious and take a long time. You might even feel like giving up. But, if you give up too quickly you’ll never know if this type of business would have been successful. You might even turn out to be the next website marketing superstar!
